There it is. It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing. The 2024 Beach Volleyball Calendar, in all its glory. The long, sad, cold offseason is almost over, the 2024 beach volleyball season is almost here. 15 days stand between us and a huge year for the sport. Let’s break it down, by the numbers.
Thirty-Five (35)
The number of beach volleyball events this season, Challenge/Contender level and up.
Thirteen (13)
The longest stretch of consecutive weekends with volleyball, starting Saturday, September 14th with week #1 of the all-new AVP League in Los Angeles, California and ending on Saturday, December 7th with the Beach Pro Tour Finals in Doha, Qatar.
Fifteen (15)
The duration, in days, of the eight showcase of beach volleyball on the World Olympic Stage. The beach volleyball tournament in this year’s Olympic Games starts pool play on Saturday, July 27th and concludes with the medal matches on Friday, August 9th and Saturday, August 10th.
Four (4)
The number of conflicting events in this year’s schedule between the AVP and international tournaments. An Elite 16 in Gstaad conflicts with an AVP Contender in Denver July 6-7. The following week, an Elite 16 in Vienna conflicts with an AVP Contender in Waupaca. AVP Virginia Beach (also a Contender event) happens during the Olympics August 3-4. AVP Chicago conflicts with an Elite 16 in Montreal, Canada (an awesome event, we were on-site last year for a great tournament.)
Thirty-Two (32)
The number of weekends, starting in Doha March 6th, with a professional beach volleyball tournament.
One Hundred Twenty One (121)
The number of days we get to watch our favorite sport this year. I am excited. Are you?
